The Flagler Museum's newest program series, called Together, at the Table, presented special lectures focused on food. The following "Food Talks" presented an over-arching celebration of people and foodways as the foundations of Florida's cultural heritage and the American South's regional cuisine legacy.

Zella Palmer, an author, professor, filmmaker, curator and scholar, is the Chair and Director of the Dillard University Ray Charles Program in African-American Material Culture in New Orleans, LA.

Hamilton webThis "Food Talk" focused on Florida foodways and systems, with an emphasis on Northeast Florida's early settlers in and around St. Augustine and their cultural heritage. Anna O. Hamilton, a former journalist, is an oral historian, audio producer, and foodways scholar from northeast Florida who is currently a doctoral student in the department of American Studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

New for the 2021-2022 Season is a program inspired by the 2019 return of Whitehall's original Dining Room furniture suite. The community-focused Together, at the Table series will be centered around dining practices, cultural foodways, and culinary traditions relevant to Florida history. The series at its essence is a celebration of the rich diversity of South Florida's expansive cultural heritage and an intentional spotlight on the people of our community.
