Morning Room

A 1902 newspaper article describing Whitehall remarked, “contrary to the usual rule, Mrs. Flagler’s boudoir is some distance from her chamber.” The article goes on to suggest the placement of the room gives Mary Lily privacy and, being on the west side of the house, affords her a view of Lake Worth.

Mary Lily used this private sitting room to entertain bridge parties, practice music and maintain her private correspondence. The Louis XV-style gilded screen and spinet piano are original to the room.
