Children of all ages are invited to hunt for more than 4,000 eggs on the Museum¹s South Lawn, and participate in the Gilded Age tradition of egg rolling. Egg rolling began in 1878 at the White House. Museum gates open at 9:00 a.m. The festivities begin with a visit by the Easter Bunny, face painting, and children¹s arts and craft activities. The egg hunt begins promptly at 10:00 a.m. Children are encouraged to bring their own Easter baskets. Wooden egg rolling spoons will be provided .
General admission for the Easter Egg Hunt and Easter Egg
Roll is $5 for children and $18 for adults, and includes Museum admission. There will be no admission
charge for children or grandchildren of Museum Members at
the Sustaining level and above.

Prize for finding the Golden Egg awarded following the Hunt.

Easter Egg Hunt for children age five and over on the South Lawn with 3,000 eggs hidden.
Prize for finding the Golden Egg awarded following the Hunt (adults not allowed on the South Lawn during the Hunt)
10:40 a.m.
Easter Egg Roll on the South Lawn for children age four and under
10:50 a.m.
Easter Egg Roll on the South Lawn for children age five to seven
11:00 a.m.
Easter Egg Roll on the South Lawn for children age eight and over
