My wife and I own a property in Boca Raton called the “Banana Patch” which Henry Flagler sold in 1911 for $55 and now is worth millions.
Our property has a VERY BRIEF sales history. We bought the property in 1978 from the Kobayashis, one of the 8 original Japanese families, who settled in the little community of Yamato. The Kobayashi family bought it in December, 1911 from George Morikami for $95. Morikimi bought it 3 months earlier, in September, 1911 from Henry Flagler’s Model Land Co. for $55 and Flagler had acquired it from the State of Florida.
My wife and I are getting older, and although it was originally our intent to live on the property for the rest of our lives, our interest have changed and we have decided to sell this most unique property.
I am in the process of writing a brief history of the property and would like to find out when and how Henry Flagler acquired the large chunk of land in Boca.
I originally believed that he acquired this land as a result of the canal company that he owned that I understand built the Intercostal Waterway and was paid with land as was done with the railroads, however I don’t know if this is true.
I will appreciate if you can tell me when and how Mr. Flagler acquired this Boca land.

Any help and site information that I can get on the internet will be appreciated.
